 Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse to jedna z najbardziej malowniczych tras wysokogórskich położonych w Alpach. Podczas pierwszego pobytu na niej zrobiła na mnie tak duże wrażenie, że miałam ochotę wrócić na nią przy pierwszej nadarzającej się ku temu sposobności. Okazja pojawiła się po czterech latach, gdy wybieraliśmy się w Dolomity. Postanowiłam wtedy, że pierwszą noc urlopu spędzimy w jednym z hoteli znajdujących się na trasie. Nadeszły wakacje i pewnego lipcowego dnia popołudniową porą przybyliśmy na Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse. Zastana aura bardziej wskazywała na jesień niż na lato w pełni. Było zimno, wietrznie i trochę kropiło, a szczyty tonęły w chmurach. Lecz nawet takie warunki pogodowe nie odebrały uroku temu miejscu, a miałam wrażenie, że mu go wręcz dodały. Wjechaliśmy na najwyższy punkt na trasie: Edelweisspitze 2571 m n.p.m.. Pierwotnie szczyt był wyższy, ale ścięt...
