L'informazione giornalistica televisiva cambia tantissimo da una rete all'altra in base ai target di riferimento, alla linea editoriale scelta dai direttori dei Tg e in base ai risultati di auditel che si vogliono ottenere. Possiamo fare una prova empirica di questa realtà: se guardiamo a distanza di pochi minuti due telegiornali su due reti televisive diverse, ci accorgiamo facilmente che sembra che vengano diffuse notizie totalmente differenti lasciando molti dubbi sulla realtà della notizia stessa. Uno dei Tg nazionali che da sempre è stato additato come poco informativo o per meglio dire, portatore di un'informazione sui generis, è sicuramente Studio Aperto, il telegiornale di Italia 1, la rete giovane di Mediaset che costruisce tutti i suoi prodotti televisivi non perdendo mai di vista il suo target.
