Madrid, 19 de marzo de 2025.- Pfizer ha anunciado los resultados de un estudio llevado a cabo en Escocia que demuestra el impacto positivo de la vacunación contra el virus respiratorio sincitial (VRS) en la reducción de hospitalizaciones entre la población adulta. El estudio, llevado a cabo por el Sistema de Salud escocés y la Universidad de Strathclyde, demuestra que la introducción de la vacuna RSVpreF (ABRYSVO®▼) ha dado lugar a una reducción del 62,1% (IC 95%: 35,0-79,8) en hospitalizaciones por VRS en adultos de 75 a 79 años3, desde que el programa se introdujo en agosto de 2024 hasta noviembre de 2024*. El VRS es un virus contagioso y una causa común de enfermedades respiratorias4, especialmente en poblaciones vulnerables, incluyendo adultos mayores.
