Sebelum diberikan susu, ia tak akan berhenti menangis, bahkan tambah keras. Tapi bila kebutuhannya segera dipenuhi, akan berhenti tangisnya.Nah, menangis pada bayi, selain sebagai salah satu bentuk komunikasi prabicara untuk memberitahukan kebutuhan/keinginannya, juga untuk menunjukkan reaksi emosinya terhadap suatu keadaan yang tak menyenangkan. Reaksi emosi bayi yang demikian, sebetulnya masih wajar, karena si bayi bereaksi terhadap suatu keadaan yang tak menyenangkan, yaitu lapar. "Hanya saja, kalau reaksinya berlebihan, semisal menangis terus, meski sudah diberikan susu, berarti ada sesuatu pada dirinya.
