 O CERN – Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire já existia no meu tempo de estudante do Técnico e na altura já era considerado o Santo Graal pelos meus professores de Física. Mais de vinte anos depois, em 2008, foi inaugurado o LHC – Large Hadron Collider , um acelerador de partículas constituído por um túnel em forma de anel com 27km de perímetro e enterrado a mais de 100 metros da superfície de Genebra. Nessa espécie de tubo de esgoto tecnológico, as mais pequenas partículas conhecidas pelo Homem são aceleradas por magnetos gigantes até muito perto da velocidade da luz, com o simples objetivo de provocar a colisão entre elas. Em 2013, e depois de terem gasto mais de 10 biliões de dólares, o CERN anunciou finalmente que tinham descoberto o bosão de Higgs, mais conhecido como a “Partícula de Deus”. Sinceramente Deus deve-se ter rido porque o idiota do Homem ainda não percebeu que Deus não tem culpa...
