Este análisis identifica retos para aumentar el uso de biosimilares en EE.UU. tomando como ejemplo medidas exitosas europeas. Se ejemplifican estrategias de switch, de compra pública o de revisión de guías terapéuticas como posibles herramientas para aumentar el uso de biosimilares en EEUU, si bien advierten de que hay que sortear algunos problemas intrínsecos de su sistema como los términos actuales de la parte B del Medicare o el abuso de patentes, que bien desincentivan o retrasan la utilización de biosimilares.
