 Berdasarkan data yang dihimpun oleh Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia (IDAI), sebanyak 12,5 persen kasus positif Covid-19 di 
 Indonesia merupakan anak usia 0-18 tahun, dengan 3-5 persen dari anak yang positif Covid-19 meninggal dunia dan 50 
 persen di antaranya adalah balita. 
 Lonjakan angka ini diduga juga berkaitan dengan menyebarnya Covid-19 varian Delta di Indonesia. Secara umum, Kepala Ilmuwan 
 Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), Dr Soumya Swaminathan mengatkan, virus mutasi ini dua kali lebih menular daripada virus aslinya.
