부천시지속가능발전협의회(대표회장 허원배, 이하 부천지속협)는 지난 2월 4일 시온고등학교(교장 오원준)와 “인간과 자연, 현재와 미래가 공존하는 지속가능한 부천의 교육생태계 구축을 위한 SDGs실천학교 협약”을 체결했다. 
 부천지속협이 관내 초·중·고와 맺고 있는 “SDGs실천학교”는 아동과 청소년들에게 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)를 이해하게 하고, 생활 속 실천을 통해 인간과 자연이 공존하는 쾌적한 환경에서 건강한 삶을 영위하고 이것을 계승하는 “지속가능발전교육(ESD)” 등 창의적 체험활동을 하는 교육기관이다.시온고는 부천지속협과 함께 부천시 지속가능발전 비전과 목표, 실천과제를 바탕으로 적합한 교육체계를 구축하고, 학생과 학교 교육공동체가 함께 참여하는 지속가능발전교육(ESD)을 실천하기로 했다. 
 이날, 협약식에는 2월 퇴임하는 오원준 교장과 새롭게 교장으로 취임하는 김은경 교감, 김동희 교무부장과 권민정 창의융합부장이 참석했다. 부천지속협에서는 허원배 대표회장과 임행심 사회위원장, 오산 사무국장과 이승훈 팀장이 참석해 협약 후 활동에 대해 이야기를 나누었다.한편, 부천지속협은 2023년에는 송내초, 소사중, 상일고와 실천학교 협약을 체결하고, SDGs뮤지컬 공연, 토종종자 생태감수성 교육, 실천교사 연구모임, 소사중 플리마켓 체험·홍보부스 운영 등 실천사업을 함께했다. 
 2024년에도 부천일신초, 산학교, 원미중, 소명여중, 중원고와 협약을 체결하고, SDGs영상제, 둘레길 모니터링, 소하천 모니터링, 삼정권역 대기환경 모니터링과 정책제안 보고회 등을 진행한 바 있다.
