Newsroom Growing Mississippi In recent years, Mississippi has made tremendous strides in helping job creators invest and expand throughout our communities. The results are proof that what we’re doing is working. In fact, we were just ranked number two in the nation for real gross domestic product (GDP) growth by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis. What’s more: incomes have grown alongside the GDP. The analysis further boasted that Mississippi manufacturing incomes were ninth in the nation, while our agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting incomes were the third highest. Of course, when people are employed, reliance on social safety net programs decreases (saving taxpayer dollars). That proved itself true in this latest analysis as well.
