Portrait Sr. Euphemia Die Wurzeln. Mein Eintritt ins Kloster St. Ursula, Brig, erfolgte im Jahr 1954. Der Grundstein dazu wurde wohl schon in meinem Vaterhaus gelegt. Mein Vater, ein Protestant, der so schön über seine Familie beten konnte und seine Sonntagspredigt nie versäumte, und meine Mutter, der die heilige Messe nicht nur religiöse Pflicht bedeutete, halfen mein Leben zu prägen. Mit 15 Jahren war es mir vergönnt, zwei Jahre in einem Institut in England und ein Jahr in einem in Frankreich zu verbringen. In der High School in England begegnete ich in meinen Lehrerinnen zum ersten mal Ordensfrauen. Ihre Lebensaufgabe und ihr Beispiel zeigten mir das "MEHR" auf: Gott in ganzer Hingabe anzugehören und dennoch sorgende Mutter für viele sein zu können. Mein Beschluss diesem Lebensstil zu folgen, war gefasst. Noch war ich zu jung dazu. Zuerst durfte sich noch mein Wunsch, Kindergärtnerin zu werden, verwirklichen.
