W pierwszym kwartale 2023 r. globalne przychody na pasażerokilometr (RPK) wzrosły o +58,3 proc. r/r, osiągając 85,9 proc. poziomu sprzed pandemii. Wzrost był szczególnie duży w Azji (+125,5 proc. r/r) w następstwie ponownego otwarcia Chin. Globalna sprzedaż biletów lotniczych tego lata (maj-wrzesień 2023 r.) również wzrosła o +35,2 proc. r/r, osiągając 92 proc. poziomu sprzed pandemii (2019 r.), przy popycie w Ameryce Północnej już na poziomie 99 proc. Z raportu Allianz Trade wynika, że przez cały rok 2023 podróżować będzie około 4,3 mld osób (w porównaniu z 4,5 mld w 2019 r.).
