Wszyscy podróżni udający się do Egiptu (oprócz dzieci w wieku do sześciu lat) muszą okazać przy przekraczaniu granicy test PCR z negatywnym wynikiem. Początkowo rząd Egiptu wymagał, by badali się jeszcze przed wylotem, jednak po interwencji Organizacji Związków Biur Podróży Unii Europejskiej (ECTAA) złagodził ten przepis i zezwolił na wykonywanie testów po przylocie. Taką możliwość mają jednak wyłącznie podróżni lądujący w jednym z czterech kurortów – Szarm el-Szejk, Tabie, Hurghadzie i Marsa Alam. Test kosztuje 30 dolarów.
