BackgroundLocal political involvement is an important aspect of our Constitutional Republic and has been a challenging issue for many Americans. While there is often an expectation of physical involvement there are many ways to engage in local politics that don't require leaving the house. However, simply being aware of these opportunities is not enough; it is essential to learn fundamentals of US local government, how it is structured and where it gets its power and authority. Without this knowledge, even with physical participation it will have minimum impact. The only way we can make change is to go back to the drawing board.
